SafeYard Recommends: Thrifty Traveler

This seems like a strange pivot from our first “SafeYard Recommends” post, where we shared our love for Fargo-Moorhead’s premier bouncy house rental business, Games to Go. Trust us on this one, Thrifty Traveler is another gateway to fun. Thrifty Traveler was founded by Jared Kamrowski, a childhood friend of Al’s, in 2015 as an easy way for Jared to explain to his friends and family how he’s traveling the world for pennies on the dollar. Another friend of Al and Jared, Nick Serati, joined the Thrifty Traveler team full time in 2016. While our Al and the Thrifty Traveler guys knew each other growing up in Fargo, they grew close during their college summer job days at Cass County Vector Control in West Fargo, where each of them learned way too much about controlling mosquitoes.

Why do we recommend Thrifty Traveler? Besides being run by a great group of people, Thrifty Traveler has helped us travel the world with our children without breaking the bank. We put in a lot of hours in the summer and it’s really nice for us to escape a few times per year when things slow down for us. Traveling with our kids is a rewarding challenge, and thanks to the Thrifty Traveler flight deals newsletter, we’ve been able to tack on extra plane tickets for them at deep discounts on non-budget airlines. Not all of the deals they find are available from Fargo’s Hector International, but their service allows you to get deal alerts for as many airports as you’d like - Minneapolis has deals every day that would be worth making the drive for. In addition to flight deals, their editorial staff keeps us in the loop on airline and hotel loyalty programs and ways to maximize credit card spend (while making sure to remind us not to spend money that can’t be paid off in full each month). We can’t thank these guys enough for helping us build amazing memories. Visit www.thriftytraveler.com, poke around and sign up for their free email newsletter to get a taste of their premium flight deals service.
